Please update app. Avic-f840bt doesnt communicate with iphone. iOS 9.3.1

I have told many about my purchase of my pioneer radio and what it can do but I can no longer get the gps or app radio to display on my head unit! It was great while it worked but now is only good as a Bluetooth phone or iPod connection! Please fix this problem! I have told my friends to hold off buying a radio like this until this is corrected so they r not paying for more than they get like I did now!

This radio and its apps are all crap. Pioneer mustve fired all their engineers. If you are having difficulties running waze still. I found a workaround. Turn off updates on your iphone. Download an older 3.9.6 version of Waze 3.9.6.ipa. Load delete all new waze from your phone and itunes, then put the older ipa in your itunes apps folder and sync your phone. Once you have the older version you can still run it on app radio. In order to get it to work I changed appradio to auto load waze on launch when i connect the iphone it prompts for connection on phone you accept and it will launch waze. It will say incompatible app or something first but old waze will push right through and show on your screen after 20 seconds. Dont forget to turn on control of waze by car unit in the settings, and never update appradio or waze after that because who knows what will happen.

The description makes it look like this will features not included in Apple CarPlay. But it adds nothing. It is a total waste! Complete junk with no purpose.

Plugged in my iphone 6s. Using spotify. Playback was cool. Wish I could manipulate the search feature via the screen but hey whatevs. What I dont get is why the hell I need this app installed? Idk what it does! My car doesnt seem to know either. Only reason I give two stars is cuz it kind of works with spotify.

It has horrible reviews. Whats the point? I didnt make sense immediately when I tried to use it...the ratings are the worst... so Im not going to use it.

Well it was great when it lasted. Now I cannot navigate waze on my pioneer head unit like I used too. Now sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Its tiresome. So now Im looking into buying a kenwood and never going back to pioneer!

Says it all. Will never buy another Pioneer product. Going to remove my Appradio 2 and use it for target practice. I wont sell it because Im not so mean-spirited as to inflict it upon anyone else. Plus I get the satisfaction of ridding the world of at least one awful piece of dysfunctional technology. Literally since day one, when they had to install a kill switch just to get to talk with my "exotic" GMC Canyon, it has been one complicated mess of connection issues and warning messages after another over the past 4 years. I gave up using any of the map tech long ago. Now all I can use is the radio until Pioneer decides to issue an update. Im tired of waiting and Im just going to get something else. And kill this piece of crap once and for all (think Office Space).

I dont get it. You have developed such a great looking piece of hardware (X2700bs owner). Why not support the software to finish it off? The app is buggy, ux needs to be updated, and doesnt support hardly any apps! Just update it and make everyone here happy :)

This app is garbage, my phone works better paired in Bluetooth mode than with this. For instance when you open a popular streaming app the music may or may not start playing but you cant actually control it because instead of that apps native interface I get the Pioneer logo across my phone with no ability to interact. If I unplug my phone I can get he native app back and start the music, it usually transitions back once I plug it back in but not always. Devs wake up and actually use the product you are writing

Pointless. Spend your money elsewhere and dont buy Pioneer.... A tape deck is more useful.

Pains me to write this but Pioneer really dropped the ball on their app development. $600-1200 for some of these head units and the apps that are supposed to interface with them look like they were written by someone still making Geocities and Angelfire websites. Terrible.

IPhone 6S Plus user I use Waze, the app Radio live & the app radio because they are apps that should be compatible with my pioneer radio. - none of the apps work. When I use Waze my radio screen instructs me to put my car in park and engage the parking brake / ok, did that, still cant see Waze on my screen. The app radio app has pop ups that I cant click on then flips over to a menu that doesnt have clickable links. This screen then freezes the app. Waste.

Who does your software UX design? What is the point of this app? How does it work? These are just some of the many questions you will ask yourself.

Finally updated to most recent firmware and software for my AVIC-Z150BH. AppRadio works but now Pandora doesnt !!!!

Plug my iPhone 5 into it and pandora and other things work but when trying to use the apps, app radio wont connect and the screen on the radio turns black and does nothing... Depressing..

Just started using this app to work with my new AppRadio4 (SPH-DA120), and right off the app seems to be malfunctioning. Ive correctly set my region (USA) but only three compatible apps come up: AppRadio Live, EC Touch and Navmii. What happened to Waze, DashCommander, etc? Impossible that only three apps are compatible...this needs to be fixed ASAP!

It WORKS! Finally! Just a few weeks before ios9 they finally got it working for ios8. Just a tad behind the ball. But this version finally works. For all those having black screen trouble, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your phone. I always save a copy of the older version before I update to the new one. Lost appradio ability for a 1500 mile road trip because of an update. Never again will I let that happen.

I am honestly stuck using IOS6 with AppRadio v.2.3.0. For some reason, AppRadio lost connectivity to the icons (spins out grey and then says app) so I thought Id upgrade to v.2.8.5. The screen is over zoomed and no buttons function. I downgraded back to v.2.3.0 and I had full functionality again minus the icons for the apps (but at least they launch). I complain each year at the Pioneer CES booth about this and they actually agree with me since it is a cat and mouse game trying to keep up with changes from Apple. So when a new phone or OS comes out, they try to make changes for it to work but then it breaks functionality with older phones and their older head units. I think if Pioneer had their own line of smartphones, this wouldnt be as much of an issue but that isnt going to happen so try and find a combo that somewhat works and live with it. Nice concept but impossible to get nailed down it seems. If there were standard protocols implemented from Apple then maybe.

It opens up on my phone, but the screen on my AV unit is black. Tested with my friends car, same results. Do not upgrade to IOS9 until this is fixed.
